SS19 ‘Ayam Cemani’ Editorial
February 2nd 2019

For the 2019 Spring/Summer collection, A Kind of Guise head to Indonesia to draw inspiration from the nation’s long-admired pattern and textile making traditions. The ‘Ayam Cemani’ range features an extensive array of finely-crafted future classics made from breezy silks, breathable cottons and other aestival fabrics. Being a summer collection, it’s been geared for hitting the road and spending a little time in the sun with summery, batik-inspired silk beach shirts. These join ruggedly constructed multi-pocket shirts, lightweight jackets made from a heat-sensitive thermochromic fabric that transform its colour in the heat, wild west inspired embroidered shirting featuring Indonesian motifs and a selection of relaxed superfine merino trousers. This bold and sunny range continues the A Kind of Guise tradition of building strong, destination-centric collections that respectfully interpret a region’s rich sartorial heritage with the brand’s signature, modern approach to tailoring.
