AW23 SOUVENIR SHOP
LAUNCHING ON THURSDAY, 8PM CEST
AUTUMN/WINTER 2023 – ICELAND
IN FRIENDLY COOPERATION WITH THE KNITTING ASSOCIATION OF ICELAND
Welcome to the AKOG Souvenir Shop, a seasonal non-profit project where we pay homage to local cultures while celebrating craftsmanship and their heritage. Twice a year, we take a deep dive into the cultures of a country to draw inspiration for our collections. Showing our appreciation for these cultures has been an integral part at A KIND OF GUISE since its foundation in 2009.
In collaboration with the Knitting Association of Iceland, we delve into Icelands rich knitting tradition with a special-edition knitwear collection, consisting of 33 sweaters and accessories, hand-knitted by Icelandic individuals in their homes.
Each piece is a one-of-a-kind treasure in distinctive color combinations and entirely originates in Iceland, from locally sourced wool of the Icelandic sheep, to the expert craftsmanship. Icelandic wool is a natural, biodegradable product from family owned farms with breathable and temperature-regulating properties in warm or cold conditions.
But this project is more than just knitwear; it’s about giving back. All profits from this collection will support Pieta, an Icelandic non-profit organization offering counselling services to those dealing with suicidal thoughts, self-harm, and supporting families who have lost someone to suicide.
Thank you for joining us on this journey.
Discover all Souvenirs on Thursday, 8 PM CEST.
