In the Andean highlands of Peru, weaving is not just a craft - it’s a tradition carried forward by Quechua women, steeped in resilience, heritage, and artistry.

Each Qichwa Bag begins with fabric that takes over four weeks to create. Starting with hand-spun yarns dyed using natural materials, the process unfolds on traditional backstrap looms, showcasing extraordinary skill and patience. Intricate embroidery, inspired by Peru’s vibrant flora and fauna, represents a new direction embraced since the pandemic.

These fabrics are then crafted into bags in Germany, featuring thoughtful details like technical linings and zippered pockets for practicality.

In friendly collaboration with the non-profit Centro de Textiles Tradicionales del Cusco, which supports and empowers the Quechua women who bring these creations to life.

Limited to 20 pieces - two per colorway - each bag is a celebration of unparalleled craftsmanship!
