The Ikat Project
May 7th 2019

To complement our Indonesian inspired SS19 collection, we’ve created a special selection of finely crafted shirts made from Ikat fabrics. Made in accordance with generations of tradition, this highly developed art form embodies the spirit and culture of the beautiful islands of Indonesia. Ikat, meaning ’to tie’ in Malay, is created by the mastery of resist-dyeing, where a bundle of yarns are bound together and then dyed. These skill-intensive steps are repeated multiple times before the weaving process reveals the desired abstract patterns. These intriguing raw forms find the balance between interlocking psychedelic structures and sacred geometry.

The limited edition capsule celebrates this traditional craftsmanship and marries the proud heritage with our own reputation for high-quality, Made-In-Germany manufacturing. 33 different fabrics have been made into 33 absolutely one-of-a-kind shirts, each of which will be available in only one size.
