1. Please give us a quick introduction to yourself.

My name is Tonda Bardehle and I was born and raised in Munich. I have been a freelance photographer for a few years now. My mother probably gave me the gift of photography and now that my sister is also studying photography, our family business is complete.

2. Were you visiting the place/country or do you live there?

I’m based in Berlin but I live in Munich. This is a very good combination since I love both cities.

3. What can you tell us about the people in the shoot?

I decided to photograph my good old friend Markus, which was a nice opportunity to see each other again after a long time. it’s already annoying to always emphasize it but in these times such meetings have become rather rare.

4. Where did you do the shooting? Why did you choose this area?

Since I just moved into my new apartment which is located in a rather bourgeois neighborhood, let’s say I took this as an opportunity to discover my new home and surroundings.

5. What are your favorite spots in this location?

Maybe I’m getting old now or I’m already too used to the lockdown, but I love to go for walks in the nearby forest and like all Munich people, I enjoy our beautiful river Isar, especially in summer.
and if that didn’t sound old enough, I also like drinking Guinness at a bar called Pusser’s near Maximilianstraße. They have very good cocktails there too.

6. What photographer/artist influences your photography?

I’m inspired by the work of the photographer Davit Giorgadze. There is always a feeling of morbidity and nostalgia in his pictures. And since my imagery and ideas almost always come from my childhood and my surroundings as a child, I can identify with his images very well.

7. Famous last words – what would you like to share?

You can watch all episodes of „Taskmaster“ on Youtube, it’s one of the funniest game shows I’ve ever seen.
