THE DERBIN SHIRT
The afternoon sun slants through the pines, laying a lattice of gold on the floorboards.
There is a particular satisfaction in the evolution of an idea, in taking a trusted form and ushering it gently into a new expression.
A KIND OF GUISE X NANAMICA
We have evolved the concept of our signature Derbin shirt. The foundation remains, the slightly oversized, effortless silhouette cut from a substantial Spanish cotton twill, the classic collar, the straight hem. These are the tenets of timeless ease. But we sought to breathe a new, artisanal spirit into its very skin. The evolution is in the print. We entrusted the fabric to a hand-printing process in Germany, applying a rich paisley pattern not with a machine, but block by deliberate block. This manual technique imparts a depth and character that industrial methods cannot replicate. Each press of the block is unique, resulting in subtle variations in saturation and density, a signature of human craftsmanship.
Then, we allowed the elements to finish the work.
Each piece was naturally air-dried under the sunlight.
This crucial step lets the sun set the colors softly and the breeze gently handles the cloth.
The variations are subtle, a whisper of individuality within the cohesive pattern. The result is a Derbin shirt that carries the sleek, relaxed philosophy of its design into a new realm of texture and uniqueness. The weighty twill drapes with its signature ease, but now it tells a story of craft. It is the Derbin shirt, evolved, a signature of the collaborative vision with the japanese brand Nanamica.
