Chinchorro Hammock

A “Chinchorro” is a Hammock, traditionally made by an indigenous community called Wayuu living in the northern peninsula of Colombia. As part of their cultural upbringing, young Wayuu women learn this weaving technique and will use them for all kinds of crafts, usually for their own use. In a process of up to 3 months these hammocks are carefully handcrafted to not only be a cozy item for daily use but also illustrate the daily life in a rancheria, sometimes telling whole stories. This Chinchorro was custom made for A Kind of Guise with our typical slogan ‘Stay Classy’.

All profits will be donated to Survival International, a non-profit organization that preserves and protects indigenous communities and their territory.
