Our inaugural release, A Kind of Wine 01, is a sparkling Rosé crafted in collaboration with Pranzegg, a biodynamic winery nestled in the heart of South Tyrol, Italy. Adorned with artwork by Jonathan Niclaus, this unique vintage embodies a deep connection to nature.

This first batch is a Pet Nat/Ancestral Rosé, a vibrant blend of two native South Tyrolean grape varieties: Vernatsch (10%) and Lagrein (90%). The 2023 vintage is made from mature vines, offering a fresh, fruity profile with notes of red fruit, yeast, and herbs. Vernatsch adds light floral tones and fresh berry notes, while Lagrein, the region’s signature grape, contributes rich flavors of berries, cocoa, and subtle spices, creating a well-rounded and complex wine.

The wine undergoes a 36-hour maceration, giving it a distinctive funk and character that sets it apart. Made using the ancestral method without disgorgement, this Rosé retains a natural yeastiness and may present lively bubbles upon opening. It’s an ideal choice for those who appreciate the authenticity and craftsmanship behind biodynamic winemaking.
