This basket, originally called “cuatro tetas”, is made from a fiber called Werregue, picked from the palm tree with the same name. They are cultivated by the indigenous Wounnan community. Once picked, the fibers are washed with natural dyes and then carefully handcrafted into shape, which often takes weeks to months, creating stunning one-of-a-kind pieces.
All profits will be donated to Survival International, a non-profit organization that preserves and protects indigenous communities and their territory.
