QICHWA BAG 6/20

€595

The Qichwan Bag Project celebrates the traditional craftsmanship of Quechua women in Peru.

The fabric – a blend of 60% wool and 40% alpaca – takes over four weeks to create, beginning with hand-spun yarns naturally dyed using plants, minerals, and cochineal insects. Woven on traditional backstrap looms, this meticulous process showcases exceptional skill and patience, while intricate embroidery inspired by Peru’s flora and fauna adds an additional layer of artistry.

The bags are completed in Germany, where the fabric is expertly sewn into designs featuring technical linings and zippered inside pockets for practicality.

Crafted in friendly cooperation with the non-profit Centro de Textiles Tradicionales del Cusco, an organization that empowers Quechua women while preserving their rich heritage.

Limited to just 20 pieces — two per colorway – each bag is a true celebration of unparalleled craftsmanship!
