Our fifth release in collaboration with Andi Weigand, a family estate rooted in the medieval town of Iphofen, surrounded by the rugged Keuper hills of Franconia. Sourced from over 50-year-old estate vineyards and harvested at perfect ripeness, it reflects the character of a generous vintage handled with restraint.
The label was created by Kurt Bauer, a self-taught Austrian photographer, whose romantic eye and attention to detail capture fleeting moments and the aliveness of everyday life. The image of a horse’s back reflects freedom, energy, and untamed spirit, echoing Andi Weigand’s approach to winemaking: honest, unrestrained, and guided by nature rather than intervention.
A KIND OF WINE 05 is a skin-fermented natural white that captures the character of Bacchus, Scheurebe, and place. Fermented for nine months on the skins in amphorae, it develops gentle tannins, lifted aromatics, and a textured profile. Bottled without sulfur or filtration and matured for three years, it shows a subtle savoury edge and a steady Franconian backbone.
A nuanced companion for winter gatherings and lively evenings alike.
